Interviews usually consist of generic questions looking to get an overview of your career history and your personality, and then questions which look to specifically explore your ability to do the position. Some of the more common and generic interview questions include:


  • Tell me about yourself?
  • Why did you apply for this position/company?
  • What are your weaknesses/areas for improvement?
  • Where do you see yourself in X years time?
  • Why did you leave your last position?


Prepare your answers well in advance of the interview and jot them down. Although these are generic questions, ensure that you prepare answers that fit in well with the position and company that you are applying for.
